1. “Stadium Of The First Of May»

City: Pyongyang, North Korea

Capacity: 150,000

Year of opening: 1989

Team: North Korea national team

The first of May stadium is the largest stadium in the world in terms of capacity . Its construction was timed to coincide with the thirteenth festival of youth and students . A feature of the design of the “Stadium of the First of May ” are sixteen arches forming a ring, because of this, the stadium resembles a Magnolia flower in shape. The arena is used for home matches of the national team of North Korea, but its main purpose is a mass holiday “Arirang”.

2. Stadium “Salt Lake»

 

City: Calcutta, India

Capacity: 120,000

Year of opening: 1984

Teams: East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan»

The Indian youth stadium (also salt lake stadium) is the largest multi— sport stadium in India . It is the second largest in the world by capacity and the largest in the Indian subcontinent. The stadium hosts home matches of local football clubs- East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan, which are among the strongest clubs in all of Indian football. The Indian football team has also played many home matches at the salt lake stadium, where the most important matches of major national tournaments are held.

3. Stadium “Bukit Jalil»

City: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Capacity: 110,000

Year of opening: 1998

Team: Malaysia national team

Built three months ahead of schedule for the 1998 Commonwealth Games, it is part of the national sports complex. In 2007, Bukit Jalil hosted matches of the Asian football championship. The capacity exceeds one hundred thousand only with the introduction of standing places. The football Association of Malaysia uses the stadium for national team games, Cup finals and super Cup matches. Twice during the Asian tour, Manchester United came to Bukit Jalil. It is the largest stadium in Malaysia.

So far, this is the only stadium that has hosted two world Cup finals . It was here that Diego Maradona scored two of the most famous goals of his career – the “goal of the century” and the ” hand of God”.. Also at Aztec in 1970, the “match of the century” was held , in which Italy defeated Germany with Gerd Mueller at the head. The stadium was used for the games of the football tournament of the 1968 Olympic games and the 99 confederations Cup .
