How to Subscribe to a Listserve
If you already belong to Yahoo Groups, add your choice of the listserve groups above.
If you wish to sign up with Yahoo Groups so that you can customize your subscriptions, e.g. to change your delivery preferences from "Individual Emails" to "Daily Digest", change your email address, or access the message archive to see recent job postings, click here.
If you do not wish to join Yahoo Groups but still want to participate in the listserves, you can subscribe directly by following the instructions below, replacing [listserve] with the name of the listserve you want to join.
- To subscribe,
- send a blank email to: [listserve]-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
- follow the directions until you have completely joined up. Usually you have to reply to an automated message and your request may need to be approved. All these steps prevent spam and may take a couple of days.
- you will begin to receive email messages
- To post a message, send it in the body of an email (no attachments) with subject line including job title and location addressed to: [listserve]@yahoogroups.com
- only joined-up subscribers can post messages to the listserve.
- To leave the group, send a blank email to: [listserve]-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

Why does IC use Yahoo Groups?
Because it's free and self-serve, IC can keep membership costs low. Members appreciate customizing and changing their subscriptions too.
I'm having trouble subscribing, what can I do?
Probably your email provider is screening out the listserve messages. Talk to other IC members at your site, or try with another email address if you have one. Some IC members have signed up for a Yahoo address as an easy route to take.
I'm having trouble posting my job, what can I do?
If you have recently changed your email address, the listserve probably won't recognize you. If you signed up with Yahoo Groups, sign in and update your email address using the Edit Membership button. Otherwise sign up again under your new email address. You'll be able to post your job, and to receive job postings again too. (Please leave the group from your old email address if you can - instructions above. Thanks!)
Where will my job be posted?
Messages posted to a listserve are sent directly to the email addresses of IC members on the list.
I posted a job this morning, when will it go out?
Posted messages may take a day or two to move through the automated Yahoo Groups system because of the firewalls we have set up to prevent spam.
Too many emails - what to do?
If you signed up with Yahoo Groups, go to groups.yahoo.com, sign in, and click Edit Membership button to choose no email or web only. Whenever you wish, sign in and scroll down the ICJobs homepage to view recent postings. Or choose daily digest option to receive email in one batch instead of individual emails .
